State Site Leasing
State Site Leasing
The goal of this activity is to streamline access to and leasing of appropriate state towers, lands, and buildings for wireless service. The VTA manages and markets state lands, buildings, and towers for wireless infrastructure development. Additionally, the VTA is able to negotiate and offer discounts on license rates on attractive sites in return for commitments to expand service in non-prime areas. As of February 28, 2011 the VTA and eight other agencies have completed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining a process for the VTA to market state properties for wireless carriers, with the approval of the Agency of Administration. A synopsis of the process between the VTA and the agencies can be downloaded here.
Carriers interested in state land, buildings or towers should complete either a pre-application or a full application. The pre-application is appropriate where the carrier is seeking information concerning a site to determine whether they are interested in submitting a co-location application. An application is appropriate when the carrier knows they are interested in being on a site. Both forms are located in the following MS Excel file: VTA Application
Forms may be submitted to info@telecomvt.org. The form license to be used as a template for all licenses has been substantially completed and will be available by the end of March. The State has revised its Technical Specifications for Telecommunication Facilities. This specification may be downloaded here.
