Vermont FiberConnect

Vermont FiberConnect is a broadband middle-mile project that was awarded a $33.4 million grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program as well as commitments from other participants.  The grant will allow Sovernet to develop, own, maintain, and operate a 773 mile fiber-optic middle mile network of up to 1Gbps service in southern, central, and northeastern Vermont, encompassing seven of Vermont’s fourteen counties.

Sovernet’s primary middle mile service offerings will be high-capacity, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint private line transport services. Maps showing where on-network services will be available from Sovernet to communications service providers making a bona fide request for services, subject to a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Maps will be preliminary pending final engineering and environmental assessments.

If you are a service provider seeking access or interconnection to this new facility, please contact Sovernet for details. If you need assistance receiving information regarding this offering, please email info@telecomvt.org.
