Projects Overview

The VTA is involved in three types of projects: broadband expansion, cellular service infrastructure and fiber optic infrastructure. Click on each heading on the menu to find out about specific projects.

Funding and Project Summary

Much of the VTA program of work has been supported by Legislative appropriations. Projects throughout Vermont are funded through additional sources as well. We pursue federal funding opportunities, such as the Broadband Technologies Opportunities Program (BTOP), as they’re available.

Other broadband and cellular service projects in Vermont have been or are being funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), by the USDA’s Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP), by the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC)Connect America and Mobility Funds, and through settlements reached through Vermont Public Service Board regulatory proceedings.
