David Binch
David Binch was president and CEO of Champlain Cable Corporation for 20 years, where, among his other duties, he was active in licensing Champlain Cable technology worldwide. He worked with Burlington merchant service technology company, Entrust Solutions, to start up a division in the US, which was subsequently moved to Vermont. He then worked for Huber+Suhner's Swiss headquarters for two years before returning to Vermont where he served as Chairman of its North American group until his retirement in 1997. He has been the Director of the Vermont Information Technology Center since 2000. He served on the Westford-Underhill-Jericho committee which developed a plan to bring fiber optic broadband connectivity to the three towns. He is a Director of GBIC, Chair of its Technology Committee, on the Chittenden County Workforce Investment Board, and a member of the UVM College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Board of Advisors. Binch is a past Chair of the Vermont Arts Council, the Jericho Economic Development Committee, the Governor's Institutes of Vermont, the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. He was appointed by the Speaker of the House and his term expires in June, 2013.
